Blue paste Prussian blue grinding compound is a precision lapping and fitting compound used aboard cargo ships, container vessels, tankers, offshore support vessels and naval auxiliaries. Engine room crews apply it to bearings, high-pressure valve seats, diesel engine valve faces, pump shafts and other close-tolerance mating surfaces to check contact patterns and lap components to a true seat. It solves a common shipboard problem: restoring or verifying a precision fit without waiting for shore-side machining support. The distinctive blue marking paste reveals high spots instantly, so engineers can scrape or lap until full contact is achieved.

Supplied as a smooth, jelly-like paste made from ultra-fine dye particles, this compound is an improved formulation over traditional red lead grinding paste and is intended for precision lapping work.
