BSW9812 Position Indicating Light for Lifeboat & Liferaft

This position indicating light is purpose-built for lifeboats, rescue boats and liferafts on board cargo ships, container vessels, tankers, bulk carriers and offshore support vessels. Mounted on the upper part of the survival craft, it delivers a stable, all-round light signal that makes the craft clearly visible during abandon-ship and rescue operations. The result is faster visual acquisition by rescue teams, SAR helicopters and nearby vessels — a critical factor in cold, rough or low-visibility conditions when every minute counts.

The unit is available in three configurations: a steady-burning model, a flashing model and an additional flashing variant, giving operators flexibility to match their SOLAS lifeboat and liferaft arrangements. It runs on DC12V at 13W, with the flashing version pulsing at 50–70 flashes per minute. The housing is engineered to survive the marine environment: it passes high/low temperature cycling, vibration, oil resistance, rain and watertightness, fire, luminous intensity and chromaticity tests in line with IMO MSC.81(70), and insulation resistance is ≥200Ω. The product complies with the International Life-Saving Appliance (LSA) Code and holds CCS type approval, so it is accepted on internationally trading vessels.
