Frequently Asked Questions
What types of pipes can be bent with this tool?
This pipe bender is suitable for soft and medium-hard tubing commonly used on ships, including copper, aluminum, and annealed stainless steel. It is not recommended for schedule 80 pipe or heavy-wall conduits.
Can I use this bender for hydraulic lines?
Yes, as long as the hydraulic tubing is within the specified outside diameter range (3/16" to 1/2"). The precision grooves prevent flattening and ensure smooth bends suitable for low to medium pressure systems.
Does the bender come with a carrying case?
Our standard model is supplied without a case to minimize storage space. However, the compact design fits easily into standard tool bags or lockers.
How do I maintain the pipe bender after use at sea?
Rinse with fresh water after exposure to salt spray, dry thoroughly, and apply a light coat of machine oil to the pivot points and dies to prevent corrosion.
