Frequently Asked Questions
What are Vinyl Acetate Sponge Water Sheet Filters used for?
They are used in marine water filtration systems to remove suspended particles, sediment, and contaminants from water, protecting shipboard equipment such as pumps, coolers, and heat exchangers.
Can these filters be reused?
Yes. The vinyl acetate sponge material is washable and reusable. Rinse the filter with fresh water and gently squeeze out dirt to restore filtration performance. Replace when heavily fouled or damaged.
Are these filters suitable for potable (drinking) water systems?
While the sponge material is non-toxic and inert, we recommend consulting the manufacturer or your marine supply specialist for potable water compliance. For non-potable applications, they are fully suitable.
What sizes are available?
Standard sheets come in 500×500 mm and 1000×1000 mm with thicknesses of 5, 10, or 20 mm. Custom sizes can be cut from these sheets to fit your existing filter housings.
