YQ-50 Series Magnetic Compass for Small Craft

Designed for vessels up to 20 m LOA, this magnetic compass is a dependable heading reference for workboats, pilot boats, rescue craft, tenders, barges, and lifeboats. Mounted at the steering station or on the bridge console, it provides a stable magnetic heading when GPS, gyro, or electronic heading sensors are unavailable, during power failure, or as a required independent backup. It is equally suited to inland and coastal commercial craft and to shipboard lifeboat and rescue boat stations where a reliable, non-electronic compass is mandatory.

The compass complies with the small-craft magnetic compass standard and is CCS type approved (certificate No. SH09T00308). Its directive error and friction error are each held to ≤1.5°, with vortex motion ≤3.5°. The compass structure uses non-magnetic materials, and the pointer of the directive system is made from a high-grade alloy for stable, accurate readings. It is engineered for the marine environment: tested from -30°C to +60°C with no damage to the compass and no change to the bowl liquid, and its performance meets the relevant damp-heat and salt-mist requirements for shipboard equipment. Models YQ-50A, YQ-50F, and YQ-50C are available to suit different mounting and dial preferences.
