Our standard tank thermometers cover a range of 0°C to 120°C (32°F to 250°F), which is ideal for fuel oil, lubricating oil, and freshwater tanks. Custom Celsius/Fahrenheit ranges can also be provided upon request.
What stem length should I choose?
Stem length depends on tank wall thickness and how far the sensing tip must extend into the liquid. For a typical double-wall fuel tank, a 150 mm stem is common. Deeper tanks may require 220 mm or 300 mm stems. We recommend measuring the tank pocket depth before ordering.
Are these thermometers suitable for hazardous areas?
This mechanical bimetallic design is intrinsically safe for use in explosive atmospheres where electrical sensors could be risky. However, always verify the specific hazardous area classification of your tank and consult the vessel’s safety officer.
